All foreign researchers or teacher-researchers coming to the Bretagne region can benefit from the following services : - services offered by the FnAK throughout France by applying for the Researcher Guest Card
- services offered by the Mobility Centre of the Bretagne region described below.
Missions The aim of the Centre of International Mobility of Rennes is to support the international development of training and research in Rennes by providing services to foreign PhD and researchers that are coming to France. To access the services, they have to be member of a university or academic institute of the Centre of International Mobility.
Here are the services provided - Help in preparing the stay
Before their arrival in France, foreign PhD and researchers are invited to contact the Brittany Euraxess Service Centre to receive information about their future host city.
- A special welcome
If they request it, doctoral students and researchers can enjoy personal attention and be assisted in finding their feet and settling down. - Receipt of a ‘welcome parcel’, containing a variety of information on aspects of life in Rennes - An information service + help with administrative procedures such as applying for a residency permit (carte de séjour) (a service only available for doctoral students), opening a bank account, dealing with insurance, legal help, help in finding accommodation (a service only available for researchers), and education for children.
- The discovery of a new cultural environment
* Language and cultural activities are organised for the researchers and their spouses so that not only can they learn French or improve their level, but they can also meet other people on mobility programmes. * A cultural programme offering a choice of live entertainment as well as outings to places of general and industrial interest within the region is also arranged for them. * Thanks to the support of the FnaK, the researcher and his wife can access some french courses, beginners or intermediates ("carte de charcheur invité" needed).
