All foreign researchers or teacher-researchers coming to the Champagne-Ardennes region can benefit from the following services : - services offered by the FnAK throughout France by applying for the Researcher Guest Card
- services offered by the Mobility Centre of the Lorraine region described below.
Missions The European Pole of the Universities of the Lorraine region (Pôle Universitaire Européen de Lorraine), through its offices in Nancy and Metz, has implemented a policy for welcoming foreign students and researchers that relies on the idea of a single central reception desk, the "Guichet Unique d'Accueil". The desk handles the preparation of trips by Lorraine students outside the country as well as the reception of foreign students who come to one of the Lorraine academic institutions as part of their studies. Services for foreign researchers The Guichet Unique, or central reception desk, offers personalized services to foreign researchers and students who come to France consisting of : - Assistance with administrative formalities : through an agreement with the prefecture of the Moselle and of the Meurthe et Moselle departments, requests for residency permits are now filed at this single and dedicated desk ;
- Assistance in finding a rental : assistance is provided for finding lodgings as well as housing subsidies (ALS and APL) ;
- Assistance with questions of daily life : through a network of specific partners, assistance is offered concerning questions related to the schooling of children, Social Security, transport and cultural activities in the town. At the start of each new academic year, in partnership with the national railway company, the SNCF, an information desk "Accueil-Info/Guichet Unique" is present in the Metz and Nancy stations to help you with any practical information necessary for settling in, so that you don't feel like you have just arrived on another planet.
