All foreign researchers or teacher-researchers coming to the Midi-Pyrénées region can benefit from the following services :

• services offered by the FnAK throughout France by applying for the Researcher Guest Card,
• services offered by the Mobility Centre of the Midi-Pyrénées region.
  

Missions
The Toulouse Midi-Pyrénées university network has been assigned the mission to increase the international exposure of the University of Toulouse and its region and to develop international exchanges involving research and teaching. It encourages scientific exchange by supporting the research groups that are involved in European programmes. It supports the development of new networks and is actively involved in assisting students and researchers in practical matters and cultural life. It is also active in developing a politics of linguistic support to help mobility.

Services available to foreign researchers

- Information and help in getting settled

Researchers can now benefit from the following services :
personalised answers to requests for information (by email, post,...),
a reception desk on the new premises of the Toulouse Midi-Pyrénées university network situated in the town centre and open all year round,
distribution of the Foreign Student and Researcher Guide, Ariane, online and hard copy,
information about administrative formalities (residency permits, health insurance, work permits),
the FnAK welcome package (for stays longer than 3 months) by mail.
Help in finding short-term accommodation rented by private owners (rooms, guest houses, studios,...).

- Cultural events and languages courses :

Researchers can take part in local cultural activities through an annual programme of activities that has been developed in partnership with the FnAK. The programme proposes various events to get to know the economics, tourism and culture of the Midi-Pyrénées region. This programme has three main activities :

conferences on the various aspects of the Midi-Pyrénées region
tours of companies, cultural spots, institutions
visits to regional cultural sites

Free French courses are offered at the beginner and other levels.
