In case of theft, you must report it to your local police station. Once the complaint has been filed ( "Procès Verbal " or PV), you must contact your insurance company and send all the documents necessary for the reimbursement of stolen objects. 
Important : keep all proofs of value of your belongings (bills, photographs, films...).

In case of an accident, you must contact your insurer who will send an expert to appraise the damages.
