L’accueil au sein de XLIM-SIC et d’Université de Poitiers est toujours très bien, comme il faut et je suis enchanté par la collaboration avec mes collègues francais.

I was welcomed warmly by my Professor at the Lyon Airport. Then I was taken to my residence in Studio, Central Park, Lyon. Here everything is fine. I am enjoying my stay here very much.

I really enjoyed living in France. Moreover, I got a chance to talk to Professor s in my subject. People are friendly and polite.

The opportunity to meet many good colleagues and students. The chance to understand French university life better. The chance to experience French life.

I appreciated everything, France is a very organized country, everything happens in the way they established. So, no worries.

J’ai appris le français et la culture française. J’aime bien la cuisine française et en particulier les desserts. C’est facile pour voyager en France ou a l’étranger avec le train. J’aime bien aussi le façon de travailler des français. Il faut prendre beaucoup de vacances pour travailler bien.

Me rendant souvent en France pour des séjours scientifiques, c’est toujours un plaisir de me remettre dans l’environnement de recherche du laboratoire d’accueil, et de visiter à nouveau les endroits que j’aime en France.

First, Ms Jocelyne Fayard was really helpful and not only very kind. She helped us (my husband and myself, both welcomed by FnAK-Euraxess) finding information about the French health system and also understanding several matters related to insurance, car registration, school and kids.
Second, I took advantage of the offer for French courses at Alliance Francaise (I took the 2 months offered by FnAK, then two more months with the discount also offered by FnAK).
Third, I also enjoyed the social event organised at the Gadagne museum: very interesting tour of the museum and very pleasant buffet in the museum gardens.
Being at IGFL (ENS-Lyon and CNRS) we then benefited additionally from much help from the administration personnel at our institute and through the CNRS regarding health insurance (e.g. contact with MGEN) and taxes (meeting a tax counselor at CNRS headquarters in May).

J’ai apprécié l’ambiance dynamique et très enrichissante au laboratoire, la qualité humaine de la plupart de mes collègues.

J’ai aimé la prise de contact avec des chercheurs de haut niveau scientifique, l’acquisition documentaire qui m’a permis de bien avancer dans mon travail de recherche.

Too many things to mention: one major difference with the UK is the high quality and relative low cost of childcare (i.e., the creche).

Science Accueil were extremely helpful on two counts: firstly, with paying my taxes; and secondly, with the CAF. For the latter, Marion Nonenmacher was extremely patient and helpful, and deserves a lot of credit for helping us.

I also had troubles getting a Carte Vitale (my daughter was born in France), but at the time I was not aware that Science Accueil could help me with this.

I think the work done by Science Accueil is a fantastic help to many PhD students / postdocs etc. For me, I think that the full range of services offered could be better advertised. But otherwise, I am very happy with the service.

The city of Toulouse was very beautiful. I was able to enjoy the city and France while I was here. I completed most of my sabbatical projects satisfactorily.

J’ai apprécié la chute du stéreotype qu’on fait des français au Brésil. De tout ce qu’on considère un trait brésilien (ex. receptivité, amitié, solidarité), les français sont beaucoup plus brésiliens que nous-mêmes.

Matthieu Porhel at University Relations at Aix-Marseille Saint-Charles campus was extremely helpful and friendly regarding my wife’s visa paperwork once we arrived.

Accéder au centre de documentation de Lille 1 et à l’Internet au bureau à la Fac a été très bien pour le développement de mon travail. Dans ce sens, le soutien donné par la responsable du Service des Rapports Internationaux de Lille 1 a été précieux.

On m’a bien accueilli à l’Unité de Recherche où j’ai pu vraiment avancer dans les recherches de thèse.

J’ai apprécié l’attention scientifique de mes anciens professeurs de Strasbourg, et ma participation aux cinquièmes journées internationales d’éthique à Strasbourg.
